Krabi island is well known for their tourist attraction. And there are many foreginers traveling over to Krabi annually. An important rule to take note is to avoid being noisy at religious places, and women and men should always remain covered when entering such places. And always have your hand clasped against each other with your forehead bowed near to your hands, this is to show that you respect the religion when you enter. Giving tips is normal in Krabi, as many services rely heavily on tipping.
Currency
The currency used in Krabi is the Thai baht (BHT). You can change currency at the money changer or ATMs and they have aplenty in the island. The airport, hotels, shopping malls and banks are the common places to exchange foreign currency. Credit cards are widely accepted, however travelers are advised against it, to avoid the possibility of credit card fraud which is widespread in Thailand.
Transportation
The most convenient way to travel around Krabi is to rent a car or by a local cab. Long boats are also commonly used to move around the island. And if you are traveling with a bigger group of people, there are larger boats which is specially used for organised tours. You can travel in and out of Krabi via their airport which carries many travelers from all over the world. The airport is 15 km from the Krabi Town and most hotels provide shuttle transfer service to and from the airport.
