Early this year, Kuala Terengganu City Council (MBKT) revealed seven impressive mural portraits of the former prime ministers of Malaysia which left everyone in awe.
Inspired by Mount Rushmore where the sculptures of the face of four US presidents were carved, this 250 square foot mural was painted on the wall of Dewan Tunku Abdul Rahman right in the heart of Kuala Terengganu. It’s part of the MBKT’s project to beautify old buildings around the state and turn them into tourist attractions.
This masterpiece is the work of four local artists from the Red Rebel Art Squad, comprising Raja Badruddin Hakim Shah Raja Kamarul Bahrin, 34; Wan Ansri Nizam Wan Ismail, 37; Zulkarnain Abd Latif, 40, and Mohd Fahmi Abdullah Sani, 30. The mural reportedly costs RM30,000 and took a month to be completed.
Previously, the Red Rebel Art Squad painted a large Jalur Gemilang and the Terengganu flag on the roof of the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium in conjunction with last year’s National Day celebration.
