A Malaysian beach resort won a prize at the recent World Luxury Hotel Awards 2016 held in Doha. The Avillion Port Dickson emerged as winner in the Luxury Spa Hotel category for Malaysia.
The prestigious World Luxury Hotel Awards offer recognition to hotels for world-class facilities and service excellence to guests. There are over 60 categories, which are voted for by the public. The best in the world for the Luxury Spa Hotel category was Le Meridien Koh Samui in Thailand, while the best luxury hotel in the world was the Armani Hotel Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
Stretched along the Port Dickson coastline, Avillion Port Dickson offers a unique waterfront resort experience that is easily accessible to travellers by road. It is an hour’s drive from Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The resort, which comprises 259 rooms – ranging from Beach Rooms, Garden Chalets, and Water Chalets, to Premium Water Chalets and Water Villas – sports the concept of a traditional Malay fishing village with Javanese-Malay cultural influences.
All the rooms have four poster beds, a pangkin day bed and private open-air bathroom, letting guests experience a slice of kampung life with modern comforts. Guests can relax at the award-winning aVi Spa, a 581 sqm double-storey standalone Peranakan-style spa pavilion built above water. The resort also offers its own private beach and swimming pools, steam and sauna rooms, and pet farm. It is a popular venue for wedding events.
