Description
Morocco is in the northwest corner of Africa and is bordered by the North Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Morocco, a North African country bordering the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, is distinguished by its Berber, Arabian, and European cultural influences. Marrakesh’s medina, a mazelike medieval quarter, offers entertainment in its Djemaa el-Fna square and souks (marketplaces) selling ceramics, jewelry, and metal lanterns. Morocco is a Northern African country, bordering the North Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, between Algeria and Mauritania.
Madrid, Spain's central capital, is a city of elegant boulevards and expansive, manicured parks such as the Buen Retiro. It is renowned for its rich repositories of European art, including the Prado Museum’s works by Goya, Velázquez and other Spanish masters. The heart of old Hapsburg Madrid is the portico-lined Plaza Mayor, and nearby is the baroque Royal Palace and Armory, displaying historic weaponry.
ITINERARY
Day 1 Tue (19,26) Nov 2024 – (03, 10, 17) Dec 2024: CASABLANCA (D)
Arrive in Casablanca airport. Welcome to Morocco! Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Our guide will contact you at the end of the day. Dinner included.
Day 2 Wed (20,27) Nov 2024 – (04, 11, 18) Dec 2024: CASABLANCA – MARRAKESH (B/D)
Breakfast at hotel. This morning we include a sightseeing tour with a local guide to get to know the largest city and economic center of Morocco. We will walk through its great avenues, the beautiful square of Mohamed V with its fountain Moorish buildings and palm trees and through the park of the Arab league. We also visit little Medina. We include the admission and visit to the huge mosque of Hassan II (the only mosque in Morocco where non-Muslims are allowed to enter), located next to the sea, with its 210-meter-high minaret with laser lights on top pointing to Mecca. After that we will have free time for lunch in the pleasant maritime area of "la corniche”. Then, we will head to MARRAKECH. After arriving at the hotel, you will be able to experience a traditional walk by carriage (calash) to the famous, endlessly active square Jemaa El Fna. Dinner is included in the hotel.
Day 3 Thu (21,28) Nov 2024 – (05, 12, 19) Dec 2024: MARRAKESH (B/L)
Breakfast at the hotel. We are in one of the most fascinating cities in the world. We will include a city tour to admire its strong walls, the Kutubya Tower, and the Jemaa Square; we will also walk around its colorful Medina. Entrance to Bahia Palace. Lunch is included. There will be free time in the afternoon: you can take a rest in the pool and the garden of the hotel, or walk around the Medina with its many shops, riads (small hotels), and restaurants established in beautiful historical buildings which have been perfectly preserved. We strongly recommend visiting the area where the “Secret Garden” and the Music Museum are located. At night, if you wish, you can experience the Fantasy Party.
Day 4 Fri (22,29) Nov 2024 – (06, 13, 20) Dec 2024: MARRAKESH - AIT BENHADOU - OUARZAZATE - BOUMALNE DADES (B/D)
After breakfast at the hotel. We will journey across the Atlas Mountains as their, usually snow-capped, high peaks will greet us as we say goodbye to Marrakech. Small Berber villages perch on the side of chasms. We will make a stop at the fortified village of AIT BENHADDOU, a place where several movies have been filmed. Our route will be going through the so-called biblical landscapes. We will spend some time in OUARZAZATE city with its impressive Kasbah. We will continue toward the Valley of Roses. BOUMALNE DADES. Dinner included. NOTE: On very rare occasions (during winter), the roads may be closed due to snowdrifts. If necessary, this section of the itinerary will be rescheduled according to our alternative itinerary. (The access to the Sahara will depend on road conditions.
Day 5 Sat (23,30) Nov 2024 – (07, 14, 21) Dec 2024: BOUMALNE DADES - TODRA – ERFOUD (B/L)
Breakfast at the hotel. A journey full of excitement in the Sahara Desert: The Valley of the Kasbahs; river valleys containing thousands of palm trees; Stone plains followed by oasis and adobe villages, powerful fortresses defending the thoroughfares. We will visit the stunningly magnificent TODGHA GORGE. On the way there, we will make a stop at a small town built with adobe next to KHORBAT, visitors will be able to learn about this desert community, (Note: due to weather conditions, such as river flooding, access might not be possible sometimes). We will continue towards ERFOUD. Lunch included. Those who´d like to, could go off-road to the sand dunes of the Sahara Desert and experience the dusk among the dunes.
Day 6 Sun (24) Nov 2024 – (01,08, 15, 22): Dec 2024: ERFOUD - FEZ (B/D)
We will leave Erfoud early, crossing the Atlas amidst powerful gorges and stunning landscapes. We then cross a high and cold plateau area inhabited by nomadic shepherds. Stop at MIDELT, in the center of this region. After lunch we continue our route toward the Middle Atlas, the landscape changes completely, we are in a region with forests where it snows frequently in winter. Near AZROU, in the National Park, we visit "the House of the Cedars", a small museum that illustrates the region, we will be amused by the colonies of monkeys that inhabit this area. We continue to BHALIL, a small and quiet town inhabited by Berbers of the middle Atlas with a very picturesque old city center with colorful streets, traditionally the population lived in caves, today these caves have been integrated into the houses. Continue to FEZ, before going to the hotel we will admire the view of the city from the Saadian tombs. Dinner included.
Day 7 Mon (25) Nov 2024 – (02,09, 16, 23): FEZ – TANGIERS (B/L/D)
We will discover Fez on an informative city tour. We will finish the visit with an included lunch at an ancient palace in the Medina district. In the afternoon, we will travel towards the north of Morocco on a modern highway arriving in TANGIER in the evening. Dinner and hotel accommodation included.
Day 8 Tue (26) Nov 2024 – (03,10, 17, 24): TANGIERS - SEVILLE (B)
After breakfast at the hotel. Free time in TANGIER, do you feel like doing the last bit of shopping? We take a ferry back to Spain. The bus will not be on board, each passenger must take their luggage on the ferry. Arrival in Algeciras or Tarifa and continuation to SEVILLE. Arrival in the evening.
Day 9 Wed (27) Nov 2024 – (04,11, 18, 25): SEVILLE (B)
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning we include a city tour. You will be able to see the cathedral and its famous Giralda, the banks of the Guadalquivir River, and the popular neighborhoods of Santa Cruz and Triana. After the visit, we will include a boat ride along the Guadalquivir River. Enjoy the panoramic views from the boat. In the evening, we offer you the possibility to attend a popular flamenco tablao.
Day 10 Thu (28) Nov 2024 – (05,12, 19, 26): SEVILLE - CORDOBA - CONSUEGRA – MADRID (B)
After breakfast at the hotel. We leave Seville following the valley of the Guadalquivir to CORDOBA. With a local guide, we include a visit to its great Mosque-Cathedral (entrance included), a walk through the old neighborhood with its famous patios full of flowers, and entry to the Old Synagogue (entrance included). After lunch time we leave for Castilian lands. We will make a stop in CONSUEGRA, where 12 giant windmills next to the castle contemplate the La Mancha plain. We visit the Rucio Mill. After that, we return to MADRID.
Day 11 Fri (29) Nov 2024 – (06,13, 20, 27): DEPARURE - MADRID (B)
After breakfast at the hotel, end of our services. Transfer for Flight departure to Madrid airport.
