There are some unfortunate events that we can’t predict earlier such as accident, bombing, and war. Out of three unfortunate events, war is the worst nightmare out of all because when there is a war in the country we are traveling the country is in a complete lockdown in which the airport is closed and the border will also be closed. Plus the safety of the local civilians and tourists is at stake. When there is a war in the country we are traveling of course we as normal people will be panic and don’t know what to do. Don’t panic, here’s a what-to-do list when there is a war in the country you are traveling.
- Inform your family and ministry of foreign affairs
The first thing to do is try to contact your family members in your origin country and inform them that you are okay and explain the situation to them. The reason why this is the first and most important thing to do is because when there is a war the telecommunication line will cut off in 24 hours, so you have to be fast and be alert. As soon as you get in touch with your family members, please ask them to inform all your information to the Ministry Of Foreign Affairs as soon as possible. This is because The Ministry Od Foreign Affairs usually will do whatever they can to help the extraction process.
- Leave all the unnecessary stuff
The second important thing you need to do is to pack all of your stuff as fast as you can because you have not enough time to relax and act cool. It is because your life depends on every action that you execute. Furthermore, please leave all the unnecessary stuff so that you can have more room to squeeze in all the important stuff such as a water bottle, food, phone charger, pocket knife and anything that can help you survive more than 2 days. The other reason to leave unnecessary stuff is to reduce load so that you can move faster and to prevent you from getting tired of carrying stuff on your shoulder.
- Get in group
This one of the best tips to stay safe you are traveling from one place to another which is get in group. It is because when you are in a group you will be less terrifying and scared. Plus, you will always know that someone is watching your back when something happens. Furthermore, you will not feel the burden as much as when you’re alone because you have someone to share the burden with you and they just experience the same thing.
- Avoid military operations zone
The next tip is a tip that you have to be alert and always keep in mind because this tip is really can save your life which is avoid military operations zone. This is because to avoid conflict between you and their military because they will stop and interrogate you where you will waste a lot of time. The second reason is to prevent you from getting shot from any lost ballistics because military zone is always a target when there is a war. The characteristic to identify military zone is where you see more than 4 soldiers in a group fully armoured and they always walk in the same small area. If you see something like this please avoid walking into the area.
- Go to the Embassy
After you’ve done all the four tips above please go to your country of origin’s embassy. If you are from Malaysia, go to the Malaysia Embassy but if there is no Malaysia Embassy please go to the United Kingdom Embassy. If there is still no United Kingdom Embassy please find another Commonwealth country’s embassy. It is because once you’re at the embassy they will take care of you and give you all the help you need. You can rest and be less worried.
